You can find here more information on the nordic region of ESHA. Stay tuned for more ...

The Nordic region of ESHA had their yearly meeting in Aarhus, Denmark, from April 16th to April 18th 2009.

The Board members of the School Leader Associations in Iceland, Finland, Denmark, Sweden and Norway meet once a year to discuss and share experiences about school leadership and education in general.

On the agenda this year was an interesting presentation of a new school leadership programme in Denmark for secondary school heads. We also had a presentation about leadership in public institutions of education.
Another issue on the agenda were workshops following up the OECD-report "Improving School Leadership". Especially the discussions were focusing on how the different countries have responded to the recommendations from OECD given in the ISL-report and what initiatives have been taken both on national and local level. It turned up to be a very interesting and useful session.

Finally we agreed on the position paper about "Codex for School leaders of NSF (Nordic School Leader Forum)".

During the meeting we also had the pleasure of a guided tour in and around the beautiful city of Aarhus.

The Presidents of the Nordic School Leader Forum usually meet twice a year to discuss and learn from each other and to follow up the good work both in the region and in ESHA. In the Aarhus-meeting we decided to rephrase the statutes of the Forum and how we can develop and improve the cooperation between the Nordic countries. We also had a discussion about ESHA’s future and the challenges ESHA might meet in the future.

The next presidential meeting will take place in Iceland in October. The next Board-meeting will take in Iceland in spring 2010.
